Actress Shilpa Shetty and her businessman husband, Raj Kundra has once again found themselves in the middle of legal trouble. While reports began doing the rounds that income tax officials had conducted a search at the actress’ Mumbai home in connection with a Rs 60 crore fraud probe, the actor’s legal team has come forward to dismiss the claims.

Issuing a clarification, Shilpa’s lawyer, Advocate Prashant Patil, said that no raid had taken place. He infaact, termed the development a routine follow-up by tax officials. Scroll below to read the statement.

Shilpa Shetty’s Lawyer Denies Claims Of IT Raid At Actress’ Residence

Late Thursday evening (December 18), Shilpa Shetty’s advocate, Prashant Patil, issued a statement refuting the buzz around an income tax raid being conducted at the actress’ home in Mumbai. Claiming that the visit was merely a “routine verification” conducted by authorities, Patil said, “On behalf of my client Mrs Shilpa Shetty Kundra I can confirm that there is no Income Tax “ Raid “ of whatsoever nature against my client. There is a routine verification by the income tax officials pertaining to follow up with my client Mrs Shilpa Shetty Kundra.”

He continued, “Whomsoever has mischievously claimed in public domain that these developments have anything to do with the alleged Economic Offence Wing case shall face legal consequences before the appropriate court of law. At the cost of repetition, my client Mrs Shilpa Shetty Kundra states that there is no income tax “ RAID “ at her place.”

This statement comes after several reports surfaced claiming Income‑Tax searches were underway at entities owned or operated by Shilpa Shetty and her husband, Raj Kundra, across multiple cities. The cities in question, included Bengaluru, Pune and Mumbai.
