‘Shivam Pandit’ Emraan Hashmi Announces Awarapan 2 On His Birthday; Romantic-Action Film To Hit The Screens On THIS Date

Actor Emraan Hashmi celebrates his 46th birthday today (March 24). On the special occasion, he treated fans with the announcement of the sequel to his 2007 film Awarapan. The romantic action film Awarapan 2 also starred Shriya Saran and Mrinalini Sharma.

Emraan Hashmi Awarapan 2 To Release On April 3, 2026

In Awarapan, Emraan played the role of Shivam Pandit. He took to X (formerly known as Twitter) and announced the film with its release date. The video showcased a glimpse of Awarapan and at the end, it shows that his character wakes up from the dead. In the film, Shivam dies at the end and now it hints at his comeback from the dead for the continuation of its sequel. Sharing the news, he wrote, “Bas mujhe kuch aur der zinda rakh… #Awarapan2 in cinemas, 3rd April 2026.”

In 2024, Emraan and Shriya were seen together in the series Showtime, which was streamed on Disney+ Hotstar. Fans are excited to know who will be the leading lady for Awarapan 2.

About Awarapan

Awarapan was an intense action-drama directed by Mohit Suri and produced by Mukesh Bhatt which was released in 2007. The film also had blockbuster tracks such as Toh Phir Aao and Tera Mera Rishta. The movie followed Hashmi’s character, Shivam Pandit, a hitman employed by Malik (Ashutosh Rana), a criminal from Hong Kong. Shivam was assigned to watch over Reema (Shriya Saran), a woman Malik had taken hostage. However, he found himself at a moral juncture when he learned of her frantic wish to flee and be with her boyfriend again. He decided to assist Reema in defiance of Malik’s commands, which led to a fatal altercation and, eventually, his redemption.

Emraan Hashmi’s Work Front

Meanwhile, Emraan Hashmi is gearing up for the release of his movie Ground Zero which is slated to release on April 25, 2025. The film is directed by Tejas Deoskar and presented by Excel Entertainment. Emraan plays the role of a Deputy Commandant in the Border Security Force (BSF), as he leads a two-year-long investigation into a high-stakes national security threat.

Inspired by an untold battle that remained hidden from the public eye. The film brings to light BSF’s best operation in the last 50 years, which was officially awarded in 2015. The teaser of the film will be attached with Salman Khan starrer Sikandar.
