Shraddha Kapoor was all set to begin the major shoot schedule of her upcoming film Eetha, a biopic based on the life of legendary Tamasha artist Vithabai Bhau Mang Narayangaonkar. The shoot started earlier this month in Aundhewadi near Nashik, but the film has now been temporarily put on hold after Shraddha injured herself during filming.

Shraddha Gets Injured On Sets

The actress fractured her toe on her left foot while performing Lavani, a traditional Maharashtrian folk dance that Vithabai was famous for. A source shared that the Lavani track in the film has been composed by Ajay-Atul and required fast, high-energy steps. Shraddha was dressed in a bright Nauvari saree with traditional jewellery and a kamarpatta while performing. The insider added, “Lavani has a quick tempo, and Shraddha had to execute continuous steps to the rhythm of the dholki. During one of the steps, she accidentally put too much pressure on her left foot and lost balance, leading to the injury.”

Interestingly, Shraddha has also gained over 15 kilos for the role to match the physical appearance of a young Vithabai. Even after the injury, Shraddha showed dedication and suggested continuing the shoot by filming close-up emotional scenes instead of dance sequences. The team shifted from Nashik to a set in Madh Island, Mumbai, and began shooting. But after a few days, her pain increased, and the team finally decided to pause the schedule completely.

The shoot is expected to resume after two weeks, once Shraddha has healed and is able to perform comfortably again. Despite the setback, the team remains positive and excited to continue the journey of bringing this powerful story to life.
