Shraddha Kapoor’s fans are super excited to see the actress return to the big screen as Vithabai Bhau Mang Narayangaonkar after two years. While the teaser of Eetha – released in theatres alongside Cocktail 2, got fans talking, the makers also announced that the much-awaited biographical drama will release in theatres on August 28. Well, it seems like that may not stay true for long. As per a new media report, the film is likely to either be preponed or postponed to avoid clashing with Yash-led Toxic. Read on to know all about it.
Shraddha Kapoor’s Eetha To Get A New Release Date To Avoid Clashing With Yash’s Toxic?
As per a Bollywood Hungama report, the makers of Eetha are contemplating either moving the film’s release date ahead or back by a week or so to avoid clashing with that week’s other releases. A source in the know told the publication,“The producers – Maddock Films – are wondering whether to prepone the release or postpone. However, it is clear that they don’t plan to bring the film on the original release date – August 28. In a few days, they are expected to make an official announcement on the change of release date.”
The insider further stated, “There is chatter in the trade that the producers of Eetha want to avoid a clash with Toxic, and it may be a sensible decision. Both films are expected to be major box-office performers, while Eetha has the potential to enjoy an exceptional run in Maharashtra. In the event of a clash, the business of both films could get divided in this crucial market.”
August 28 Releases
As per reports, as many as 4 films were scheduled to release during the last week of August. The first film to announce August 28 as its release date was Khosla Ka Ghosla 2. The next film to book the same date was The Vvan. However, last week, the makers of the Tamannaah Bhatia and Sidharth Malhotra-led jungle adventure flick revealed its release has been postponed. As per the latest communication, the film will now release in cinemas on September 25.
Just last month, the makers of Toxic: A Fairy Tale For Grown-Ups took to social media and announced that the Yash-starrer would release in cinemas worldwide on Wednesday, August 26.
