Twitterati slams Sona Mohapatra for opposing Rangoli Chandel’s Twitter suspension; singer hits back

Kangana Ranaut’s sister Rangoli Chandel’s Twitter account has been suspended. Rangoli was really vocal about her views on Twitter and she put them out fearlessly without bothering about anything. Singer Sona Mohapatra was seen opposing this suspension for which she faced a lot of backlash, but she made sure to give everyone a piece of her mind.

After Rangoli’s account was suspended, the news grabbed headlines and that’s when Sona tweeted, “Just read on my timeline that the ‘Rangoli Chandel-Kangana Ranaut’ handle has been suspended by @twitter? While I might not subscribe to all their views, I also stand by their right to express them. Let’s not be so ‘politically correct’ & quick to be offended dear #WokeSabha (sic).”

What followed after this was a tsunami of tweets that slammed Sona for her opinion. People began to question her own views that she is known for. As one user wrote, “Why are ppl arguing with Sona, by now her views & sympathies should be clear for everybody.. Leave her alone… Apparently no amount of poison, hate & bigotry bothers her. Not even actual calls for violence. But she will stand up for FOE of a nazi. Must be an Indian ‘centrist’.”

To this, Sona replied saying that she does not need a character certificate from jokers. “Fortunately, I never followed the twitter handle you all seem to have been following. Also, I don’t need a twitter certification of character from you jokers. See your world as black & white. Your prerogative(sic).”
