Yesterday, Sonam Kapoor had lashed out the makers of ‘Mr India’ trilogy for announcing their project without even consulting her father Anil Kapoor or director Shekhar Kapur. Soon, Twitterati had questioned the actress if she had a chat with Boney Kapoor who was the producer of the iconic film ‘Mr India’. The ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga’ actress responded saying her family did discuss the issue and they all are still very confused about it.

Apparently the sole rights of ‘Mr India’ lies with Boney Kapoor, who had bankrolled the cult classic which starred his brother Anil Kapoor and wife Sridevi. Sonam had lashed out Ali Abbas Zafar when he recently announced that he will be collaborating with Zee Studios for ‘Mr India’ trilogy.

When Twitterati questioned if she discussed this with uncle Boney Kapoor, the actress replied, “My father did have a word with him actually. We are all still very confused about how it was announced.”

Even director Shekhar Kapur raised the question about not getting creative rights for the remake. “Directors lead and inspire every aspect of a film and have no creative rights?” he tweeted.

Shekhar is now contemplating legal action to find out how he has no creative rights over his own film. “Yes. It’s time to test this legally .. let’s do it”

Now it has to be seen what the makers of ‘Mr India’ trilogy has to say about these allegations. Until then you guys stay tuned for more such interesting updates.
