Suniel Shetty Reveals He Will Watch Son Ahan Shetty’s Border 2 On THIS Condition; Says, “I Had A Mannat For Him”

Actor Suniel Shetty, who played Bhairon Singh Rathore in the 1997 film Border, has revealed that he hasn’t watched its sequel, Border 2, which stars his son Ahan Shetty. Speaking at the film’s premiere last week, Suniel stated that he will only watch Border 2 if it crosses Rs 500 crore worldwide. He shared that his wife, Mana Shetty, has already seen the film and loved it. Suniel also expressed happiness that, after Dhurandhar, another Hindi film has performed well.

Suniel Shetty REVEALS Why He Hasn’t Watched Ahan Shetty’s Border 2

The Border actor mentioned that he has a special prayer for Ahan. “I said from day one that I won’t watch Border 2 until it hits Rs 500 crore globally. I had a mannat (prayer) for Ahan. I haven’t watched a single frame yet. It’s not arrogance about the film,” he told Mid-Day.

He also shared with whom he plans to watch the movie. “I will watch it with Ahan, his friends, and my family. I’ll also take Sunny paaji, Varun, and others along. It might be their second time watching it, but it will be my first. I don’t know how many times I’ll watch it after that. I’ve always been proud of Ahan and his choices. He believed strongly that Border 2 was the film he wanted to do,” he added.

Border (1997), directed by JP Dutta, is set during the India–Pakistan war of 1971 and is inspired by the Battle of Longewala. The film starred Suniel Shetty, Sunny Deol, Jackie Shroff, Akshaye Khanna, Puneet Issar, Sudesh Berry, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Tabu, Pooja Bhatt, Rakhee, and others.

Border 2, produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta, is directed by Anurag Singh and was released in theatres on January 23. Backed by T-Series and J P Films, it features Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Anya Singh, Pranav Vashisht, and Medha Rana in key roles.
