Suniel Shetty has been impressing the audience with his on-screen performances ever since he entered Bollywood in the early 1990s. As Anna wows his fans once again in Welcome To The Jungle, the senior actor has recently weighed in on an headline-making Bollywood topic – Ranveer Singh exiting Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3. Following Ranveer walking out of the much-awaited Don instalment, Excel Entertainment sought around Rs 45 crore in compensation for losses incurred during pre-production. Post that, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) issuing a non-cooperative against the actor.

During a recent interaction, Suniel not only weighed in on the issue, supporting Ranveer Singh, but also questioned how can anyone demand a ban. Read on to know all he said.

Suniel Shetty Supports Ranveer Singh Amid Don 3 Controversy

During a recent interview with The Times Group, Suniel Shetty weighed in on the Don 3 controversy and associations demanding a ban on Ranveer Singh for exiting the film. Connecting on the ban demand, the ‘Welcome To The Jungle’ actor said, “No one can prohibit an actor, no one can prohibit art. No one has that authority. The Supreme Court would dismiss the case immediately.”

The senior actor continued, “Farhan is quite reasonable, and so is Ranveer. I genuinely believe that if they were to meet, they could create something extraordinary.” Speaking in support of the ‘Dhurandhar’ actor, Shetty added, “Who are you to impose a ban? Consider that this individual has contributed significantly to the industry… Why would you want to restrict him? If you prohibit something that audiences wish to see, what are you really trying to accomplish?”

Ranveer-Farhan Fallout Following Don 3 Exit

Following Ranveer Singh exiting Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3, the bond between the ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ co-stars took an ugly turn, especially after the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) issued a non-cooperation directive against the actor. The actor’s legal team opposed the move, arguing that the federation had no legal authority to impose such a directive.

The decision became a point of discussion online, with many coming fans and even actors speaking in support of Ranveer. The dispute was eventually resolved through mediation by IMPPA, following which FWICE withdrew its order in early June. At present, the makers of Don 3 have not announced a new casting lineup. At the moment, the project continues to remain on hold.
