Karisma Kapoor attended the funeral of her ex-husband Sunjay Kapur in New Delhi on Thursday, June 19. A video from the crematorium circulating on social media shows the Bollywood star paying tribute to her former husband, dressed in traditional white as a sign of respect. She was seen wearing a white salwar suit and appeared visibly sombre.

Karisma was accompanied by her daughter, Samaira and son Kiaan. Kareena Kapoor and her husband, Saif Ali Khan, also travelled to Delhi for the funeral. Sunjay Kapur’s family issued a statement yesterday confirming his cremation on June 19, 2025. His last rites were performed earlier today at the Lodhi Road Cremation Ground in New Delhi.

New footage has emerged showing Karisma Kapoor comforting her children during the funeral proceedings. In these visuals, she is seen paying her final respects alongside her children, as they bid an emotional farewell. Following the last rites, a prayer meeting is scheduled for Sunday, June 22, from 4 pm to 5 pm at the Taj Palace Hotel in New Delhi. The funeral notice was signed by his mother, Rani Surinder Kapur; his wife Priya; Safira; and Azarias, as well as his children with Karisma Kapoor.

Sunjay Kapur’s Death

Sunjay Kapur died earlier this week in England after suffering a fatal heart attack during a polo match. Reports suggest that the incident was triggered when he accidentally swallowed a bee during the game. This led to a severe allergic reaction that proved fatal despite immediate medical intervention. Sunjay Kapur, a businessman and ex-husband of Karisma Kapoor, passed away on June 12, 2025. Official details about the cause of death are still awaited.
