In a recent interview on the InControversial podcast, Mandhira made strong statements against Priya, saying, “We will carry forward this legacy—the Kapur family’s legacy. She is not the face of this family or our business. She shouldn’t even be involved. Our journey with Sona (Comstar) was deeply personal. We’re very proud of Sona. Dad was an innovator—it’s like our child has been taken away, and we will find it.”

She further asserted, “They won’t get away with this, and I won’t let my father’s hard work and legacy be taken from him. The truth will come out. It’s strange that they’re using our money to fight us. I want her to come forward and say that he didn’t care about his children and wanted to exclude them. There’s no way my brother chose his third wife over his kids. I don’t believe my brother died of natural causes. He was healthy. I am determined to get to the bottom of this.”

What Happened To Sunjay Kpaur?

Sunjay Kapur tragically passed away on June 12, 2025, while playing polo in London. His sudden death shocked both the business and social worlds. His funeral took place on June 19 at the Lodhi Road Cremation Ground in South Delhi, attended by close family and friends.

Sunjay was the chairman of Sona Comstar and was previously married to actress Karisma Kapoor, with whom he had two children, Samaira and Kiaan. After their divorce in 2016, he married Priya Sachdev. The couple had a son, Azarias, and Priya’s daughter, Safira, from her earlier marriage to hotelier Vikram Chatwal.

The Legal Dispute

Since Sunjay’s passing, legal battles over his vast estate are ongoing, involving his children from both marriages, including those with Karisma Kapoor and Priya Sachdev.
