Sunny Deol To Begin Shooting Action Thriller With Director Balaji In February

Sunny Deol’s upcoming action thriller with director Balaji, produced under Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment, has been postponed by nearly two months due to his commitments with Border 2 promotions. Originally scheduled to begin in December 2025, the film is now set to go on floors in the first week of February 2026, with Sunny reporting to set on February 10.

According to Mid-day, the delay was mutually agreed upon to accommodate Sunny’s promotional activities for Border 2. A source close to the project explained, “Sunny is busy with the Border 2 campaign. Instead of rushing into production, the makers decided it was best to push the shoot to ensure Sunny’s full focus.”

Preparations for the film are underway, with director Balaji planning a tight shooting schedule. “The first schedule will start in Andheri, Mumbai. Sunny has allocated significant dates, and the goal is to complete filming by summer 2026,” the source added.

Deol’s Upcoming Projects

Sunny Deol has an ambitious lineup for 2026, anchored by the release of Border 2 on January 23, 2026, directed by Anurag Singh. One of the major releases is Ramayana: Part 1, scheduled for Diwali 2026, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, with Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi starring alongside Sunny, who will play Hanuman.

He is also set to reprise his action role in Jaat 2. It a sequel to his earlier hit, directed by Gopichand Malineni. Another significant project is Lahore 1947, produced by Aamir Khan and directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, featuring a cast including Preity Zinta and Shabana Azmi.
