Fahad Ahmad on marrying Swara Bhaskar
Talking about the differences between the couple as individuals. Fahad said, “There was linguistic difference. Her mother was a professor at JNU, and her father was a respected Naval officer, who would also write columns for English newspapers. In my house, no one had even passed the 10th standard. I was the first guy who got the opportunity to study and I did my PhD from Tata Institute.”
Ahmad pointed out the urban-rural divide between them. He explains that he comes from a small area in Bareilly that isn’t even a district. They also have different religions — he is a pasmanda Muslim, while she is a Brahmin. He further added, “There was an urban-rural divide. I come from a small part–which isn’t even a district– of Bareilly city. Even our religion is different. I am a pasmanda Muslim, which comes under OBC, she is a Brahmin. The only thing common was our sexual orientation, we both are straight. We have crossed all barriers, of caste, religion, cities-villages, and class. It is challenging, but full of fun.”
