Ravi Kishan SLAMS People Calling Dhurandhar 2 Propaganda Film

Actor and Member of Parliament Ravi Kishan has voiced strong support for Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar 2, condemning the film’s labelling as propaganda. He emphasised that it is unfortunate to call the film a propaganda piece, especially as Dhurandhar: The Revenge recently entered the 1000 crore club on its third Sunday, making it the fastest Indian film to reach this milestone after Pushpa 2 (2024). Despite its continued success, some critics have branded it as propaganda.

Ravi Kishan urged audiences to support the film, stating that it has “revived the industry and presented facts through cinematic brilliance.” He said to HT City, “Calling it a propaganda film is very wrong! Actors from the South supported it openly, and everyone should do the same. A new trend has started where people are calling films propaganda—ek naya kabootar pakad liye hain log!”

He compared Dhurandhar to the 1975 blockbuster Sholay. Ravi explained, “The writer chooses topics based on real news and incidents, and the team presents them cinematically. We should be happy that more people are going to the theatres. The industry was in bad shape; the Bhojpuri industry, for example, had almost shut down. This film has been a blessing for the industry, and lakhs of people earn their livelihood through cinema.”

Ravi also highlighted the importance of cinema reflecting societal realities. “It’s crucial that films depict what has happened and is happening in society. In fact, we need to correct our history—those pages that were torn away from our past. That truth needs to come to light,” he said.

He will soon be seen in films like Mirzapur, Nagzilla, Bhai Behen, Peddi with Ram Charan, and the TDS series.
