‘The Sky Is Pink’: Zaira Wasim slammed by netizens for continuing in Bollywood
In June this year, Zaira Wasim, who made her Bollywood debut with Aamir Khan starrer ‘Dangal’, announced that she is quitting Bollywood. In a lengthy post, citing the reason for quitting Bollywood, Zaira had written that her job, “Consistently interfered with her Imaan, and her relationship with her religion was threatened.”
Now as the release of her film ‘The Sky Is Pink‘ is closer, its posters and movie stills are all over the internet. Netizens are wondering what is Zaira doing in the film’s poster since she has quit the industry. They are also busy speculating if Zaira will be attending her film’s premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) on September 13.
Recently, Priyanka Chopra, who is playing the lead in ‘The Sky Is Pink’, posted a still from the film and shared her happiness about attending its premiere at TIFF. In the still, Priyanka and Zaira are seen flanked by Farhan and Rohit Saraf. Soon netizens started questioning ‘Why is Zaira promoting this film?’. They even labelled her as a ‘hypocrite’.

One user wrote, “She is the girl who already quit acting due to religion, so what now? Or those were all dramas to get the limelight? (sic)”. Another user wrote, “Publicity stunt karne k liye Islam k naam kharab karne ki zarurat thi. Abhi aadhe nange kapdo me ghum rahi ho. #ZairaWasim #Hypocrite”

Well, people are failing to understand that the picture shared by PeeCee is a still from the film and not a pic from her TIFF visit. Also, Zaira had completed shooting of this film way long back before announcing her decision to leave Bollywood.
Helmed by Shonali Bose’ ‘The Sky Is Pink’ will hit the screens on October 11.
