At present everything is in place for Kapoor, but the situation was not the same way back in the year 2009. Well, in a recent interaction with Film Companion’s Anupama Chopra, the actor opened up about his career choices and also how he didn’t have faith in Rajkumar Santoshi’s film ‘Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahaani’, which also starred his ex-girlfriend, Katrina Kaif. Talking to the senior journalist, the actor revealed that he thought he was screwed while working for that romantic drama. He said, “When I did ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, I thought I’m screwed. I thought nobody will offer me movies and my career as an actor is over.” But destiny was in the actor’s favour, and the movie proved to be a hit among the masses.

Further, revealing that he is responsible for his career choices, the actor said, “Since my first film ‘Saawariya’ and every film that I’ve done since then, every choice has been mine. I’m responsible for every film that I’ve done; I’m responsible for every successful film and every failure that I’ve had. I can’t take a third perspective on the script, ‘You like it?’, ‘Should I do it?’, ‘You think box office, commercially it will do well?’ Because if I’m not connected to the material or character, I will not be able to do anything about it, be good or submit or surrender myself. I don’t have that skill that Aamir (Khan) sir has. That’s why he’s who he is today. I guess it’s something that you develop with experience that comes with doing a lot of work, with years of understanding your audience.”(sic)

While APKGK did work, the another film, ‘Jagga Jasoos’, with Katrina Kaif didn’t manage to fare well at the box office. Ranbir also took a potshot at his own film and said, “It broke my heart and my bank account.” Lol!

Well, such things do happen but then we are happy to see that Ranbir is finally inching towards glory in his career with multiple films lined up. Besides Ayan Mukerji’s film, the actor will be seen in ‘Shamshera’ and Luv Ranjan’s untitled next.
