Varun Dhawan Backs Arjun Kapoor Amid Online Trolls

Varun Dhawan has spoken out against online trolls targeting Arjun Kapoor, emphasising that while humour is acceptable, personal attacks and abuse are never justified. The actor, who is no stranger to internet trolling himself, explained that he and his friends often discuss such issues, finding humour in memes and jokes that are light-hearted. However, he made it clear that targeting someone personally or resorting to abuse crosses a line.

Varun Dhawan Backs Arjun Kapoor Amid Online Trolls

Recently, Arjun Kapoor shared an emotional post on the anniversary of his late mother, Mona Shourie, which left fans concerned as he reflected on how difficult and ‘cruel’ life has been of late. In response, Varun Dhawan addressed the issue of online harassment in a conversation with Yuvaa.

He elaborated that there’s a clear distinction between harmless humour and harmful personal attacks. “It’s wrong. What’s funny is funny. I can laugh at memes and jokes, but I don’t understand how people think it’s okay to abuse someone just to put them down. Making fun is fine, but going so personal is not,” Varun said. “I don’t agree with that. Make fun, nobody’s stopping you. But you shouldn’t go so far as to hurt someone.”

Varun also acknowledged that being a public figure means accepting criticism as part of the deal. “We are public figures, so part of it is that people have the right to criticise us. I’m completely okay with that. That’s what I signed up for. There are many positives — if something isn’t good, people will say so. We’re here because of the audience. But when people start spreading fake narratives or buying followers to manipulate opinions, that’s when it crosses a line,” he explained.

Janhvi Comes In Support Of Arjun

While he and his friends enjoy laughing at memes, Varun stressed that direct attacks are unacceptable. Arjun’s sister, Janhvi Kapoor, also spoke out, highlighting that bullying hurts and is never okay. Their messages serve as reminders of how online trolling can be damaging, urging everyone to maintain respectful interactions on social media.
