Vicky Kaushal Blocks 18 Months For Amar Kaushik’s Mahavatar After Love And War; Shoot To Begin In Jan- Report

After completing Love & War, Vicky Kaushal is set to begin shooting for Amar Kaushik’s Mahavatar starting January next year. Following his wrap-up on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s project, Vicky will dive into this next ambitious venture, produced by Maddock Films. As per a new report, Vicky will commence an intensive preparation from June 2026, immediately after finishing his commitments on the Bhansali film, which also stars Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt.

As reported by Pinkvilla, “Vicky has committed to a rigorous six-month training program that includes physical transformation, bulking up, and a series of acting workshops tailored specifically for the film. ‘Amar has designed a very detailed prep module for Vicky. It’s not just about the physicality, but also about getting into the psychological and emotional graph of the character.’”

The film is scheduled to begin production in January 2027. It will be shot over an extensive one-year schedule, aiming to wrap by December 2027. During this time, Vicky plans to dedicate himself solely to Mahavatar, avoiding any other professional commitments to ensure continuity.

“Vicky is treating Mahavatar as a once-in-a-lifetime project. He wants to be fully invested, which is why he has consciously decided not to take up any other assignments during the shoot,” the source added. However, there remains a slight possibility of the actor taking on a quick project before Mahavatar begins. It will be only possible if it fits into his prep timeline.

Meanwhile, Love & War is preparing for a crucial 50-day schedule starting May 2026. Bhansali aims to complete the film by the end of June, with a theatrical release targeted for January 21, 2027.
