Vicky Kaushal’s name has become synonymous with the film, ‘Uri’. The actor has made the dialogue ‘Hows The Josh’ go on to become a nation-wide slogan. But did you know that the actor was not very confident of the dialogue? Yes, he wanted to get it changed and had told the same to director Aditya Dhar. The director opened up about the incident recently.

We first used the line during the Myanmar sequence. Two minutes before the camera started rolling, Vicky came up to me and asked me to change the line because somewhere he thought the ‘feel’ wasn’t coming through. I tried explaining that to motivate their team, army commanders use such lines as pep talk and we should give it a try,” recalls Aditya. He went on to say that the first time when Vicky spoke the dialogue, all the 30 members of the team had goosebumps just hearing it.

Aditya also spoke about the origin of the dialogue and where it came from. He went on to recount that when he was a little boy, he would go the Army Club with his friends. Officers would many a times make the children line up and question them, “How’s the josh?” To this, the excited and motivated kids would reply, “High, sir.” A chocolate would have been awarded to whoever the loudest and the best. “Most of the time I used to win the chocolate,” said Aditya.

When he was scripting for ‘Uri’, he used that memory and incorporated it in the dialogue. He had no realisation that time that it would become such a hit.
