Vicky Kaushal will be seen playing the role of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw in his biopic. The first look poster of Vicky Kaushal as Sam Manekshaw was released last year and he was praised for recreating the exact look of Sam.

Today, on the death anniversary of Sam Manekshaw, Vicky Kaushal has paid a tribute to the latter by sharing a new look from the film. He posted a video on his social media handles. He tweeted, “In remembrance of one of India’s finest- Field Marshal #SamManekshaw. This journey is going to be very special with @meghnagulzar @RonnieScrewvala @RSVPMovies #BhavaniIyer @iShantanuS @bharatrawail.”

The biopic has been produced by Ronnie Screwvala and directed by Meghna Gulzar.

For the unversed, Sam Manekshaw, or Sam Bahadur was the one who led Indian to victory against Pakistan in 1971. He was the first Indian Army officer to be promoted to the rank of Field Marshal. His military career spanned four decades in which he witnessed five wars.

Apart from this biopic, Vicky Kaushal will also be seen in the biopic on Sardar Udham Singh. He also has Karan Johar’s upcoming film ‘Takht’. Vicky was last seen in ‘Bhoot Part One: The Haunted Ship’.
