After Kiara Advani, ‘Villain’ Vikrant Massey Exits Ranveer Singh, Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3? Here’s What We Know

Recent developments indicate that Bollywood actor Vikrant Massey has exited Farhan Akhtar’s upcoming directorial Don 3. The film was originally set to star alongside Ranveer Singh, with shooting scheduled to commence in January 2026. Currently making headlines with his recent release Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan alongside debutant Shanaya Kapoor, Vikrant Massey has also been the subject of speculation regarding his involvement in the third instalment of the Don series. Although neither the actor nor the filmmakers have officially confirmed this, the rumours have kept the excitement alive.

Vikrant Massey Steps Down From Ranveer Singh’s Don 3

However, a recent statement from a close source is going viral, suggesting a different story. A source close to the producers told Bollywood Hungama, “There is no doubt that Vikrant would have been phenomenal. We are certain that another actor of his calibre will step up and take this challenge head-on.”

Insiders reveal that Vikrant decided to step away from the role because he felt the character lacked depth. The part, which was to be played opposite Ranveer Singh as a cunning con artist, required a complete transformation and intense action sequences. As a result, Farhan Akhtar’s team is now in search of a replacement.

Vijay Deverakonda Replacing Vikrant Massey

Further, a source told a news portal that Vijay Devarakonda will not be stepping in to replace Massey. The statement clarified, “It’s been Ranveer and Vikrant from the start. Baseless rumours of Deverakonda replacing Massey are not going to tamper with the cast in any way.” Additionally, Gulte reported that Devarakonda has politely declined the role of the antagonist. According to the publication, he wishes to focus on his Telugu projects and is being selective about signing Hindi films.

Don 3 Female Lead

In 2024, Kiara Advani was announced as the female lead, but due to her pregnancy, it appears she will no longer be part of the project. She is expected to be replaced by Kriti Sanon. The film is scheduled to go on the floors in January 2026.
