Vishal Malhotra Reveals Violent Fan Encounter with Shahid Kapoor

Ishq Vishk, the 2003 romantic drama, became a massive hit and marked the Bollywood debut of Shahid Kapoor. The film not only made Shahid an overnight star but also turned out to be. Vishal looked back on the excitement and fan craze during the film’s release.

Vishal Malhotra Recalls Fan Frenzy

Vishal shared a memorable incident from the first day the movie hit theatres. He said he watched it with Shahid Kapoor and director Ken Ghosh at Mumbai’s famous Gaiety Galaxy. A major milestone in the career of actor Vishal Malhotra, who played his close friend in the movie. Speaking to Hindi Rush, “Back then, it was a single-screen theatre. After the movie, when we stepped outside… oh my god! If someone asks me if I’ve ever been physically assaulted, I’d say yes that day. People weren’t angry, they were just so excited they wanted to touch us.”

He continued, “I’m not joking, I still have a scar from someone scratching me. It wasn’t a bad thing; they just wanted a part of you. I still get goosebumps thinking about it. That film changed my life.”
