‘Woh Kaun Thi’ remake: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan out and Bipasha in?

Bollywood beauty Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, after regaling her fans with her pop star act in Fanney Khan, is gearing up for new projects. The actress has reportedly many films in her kitty including ‘Gulab Jamun’ ‘Jasmine’ and buzz was also that film producer Prernaa Arora of KriArj Entertainments who had bought the rights to yesteryear thriller ‘Woh Kaun Thi’ might rope in Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to play the lead in the film.

Aishwarya, too, while speaking about her forthcoming projects had said in an interview to DNA, “There were two remakes: Woh Kaun Thi and Raat Aur Din, which were interesting ideas. I respect the movies of those times (the 60’s). So, I asked them to get their rights in place.”

But contrary to rumours it is not Aishwarya but Bipasha Basu who might have bagged the lucrative project.

As reported by Bollywood Hungama, after exiting KriArj, Prernaa along with Arjun N. Kapoor, Ahmed Khan and Shaira Khan has launched a new production house last week called Studio Five Elements. Now that a new production house is helming the project, the film will see some major changes. Prernaa who is still backing the film, will have the male lead as her business partner, Arjun N Kapoor and Bipasha Basu will step into the shoes of Aishwarya.

Reports further added that the project will get a new director and shooting will start on October 10, this year.

We wonder if Bipasha Basu and Arjun N. Kapoor manage to create the same magic that veteran actors Sadhana and Manoj Kumar created in the 1964 hit.
