Kangana ranaut Manikarnika poster

Kangana Ranaut will be seen as Rani Lakshmibai in the warrior’s biopic which has been titled as ‘Manikarnika’. Few days ago, a sketch of the actress’ look from the film was released, and now Kangana is all set to launch a 20-feet poster of the film on May 4, 2017.

The actress will be flying to Varanasi and a grand event will take place where she will be unveiling the poster at Dasashwemedh Ghat. Kangana is leaving no stone unturned for the film. She has trained herself in horse-riding and sword fighting for the movie.

In an interview earlier, she had said, “We have workshops to rehearse lines before the shoot. I also want to do workshops to learn hand-to-hand combats, how to ride in a sari, with a baby tied to my back, fighting with two swords and holding the reins in my mouth. Nothing should look fake or forced which is why I haven’t set a time limit for when the film rolls. I want the script to come alive as beautifully and fiercely on screen.” (Also Read: Not just as an actress, Kangana Ranaut to be also credited as a writer in ‘Simran’)

Apart from Kangana, there are very well known names attached to the film. The lyrics and the dialogues are written by Prasoon Joshi, and the music will be composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. Talking about the film, Prasoon said, “I grew up in Uttar Pradesh and was fascinated with Rani Lakshmibai. I believe she and I have been searching for each other all these years and while the poem is about all that she stood for and is the soul of the film, it is not an eulogy. I’m still writing it but the last line will definitely read ‘kab tak aise vaar sahoge’. I am meeting the composers on Tuesday for a jam session.”

“I’d written dialogue and lyrics for ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ earlier. I know there’s the danger of repeating myself, but I enjoy the challenge. I compartmentalize my work, focusing on one aspect at a time, so there is no duplication,” added the lyricist-writer.

‘Manikarnika’ will be directed by Krrish who had helmed Akshay Kumar’s ‘Gabbar Is Back’.
