‘De De Pyaar De’ Box-Office: Ajay Devgn starrer performs well over the first weekend

‘De De Pyaar De’ released this week to mixed reviews. The family drama, which stars Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Rakul Preet Singh, has performed well over the first weekend.

Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter and shared the figures:

#DeDePyaarDe witnesses day-wise growth… Biz was affected on Day 3 due to polling in some parts… Mumbai and Delhi-NCR plexes lead… Weekdays crucial… Fri 10.41 cr [incl Thu previews], Sat 13.39 cr, Sun 14.74 cr. Total: ₹ 38.54 cr. India biz. #DDPD

The movie’s performance over the weekdays will determine whether it can cross the 100 crore mark or not.

In our review of the film, we wrote, “Ayesha (Rakul Preet Singh) is a bartender and Ashish (Ajay Devgn) is a businessman. According to Ashish’s psychiatrist (Javed Jaaferi), the only reason their love story exists is because she wants his money and he wants her body. A song sequence later, they are madly in love and frankly, we couldn’t care less. Ashish decides to make Ayesha meet his family – a wife, a son and a daughter. Once they all come together, pandemonium ensues and out of nowhere, the film becomes absorbing.”
