Dhurandhar Box Office: Ranveer Singh’s Action Spy Thriller Makes History; Emerges As India’s FIRST Single-Language Film To Enter Rs 1000 Cr Club Domestically

Ever since it released in theatres on December 5, Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar – starring Ranveer Singh as an Indian spy in Pakistan, has been impressing the global audience and how. The action spy thriller – also starring Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Rakesh Bedi and Sara Arjun, has been loved for it story, acting, music and its execution.

While the film is soon set to complete 2 months in theatres, it has now made history at the domestic box office. As per latest BO reports, the film has earned itself a spot in the coveted Rs 1000 crore club globally. Read on to know all about it.

Dhurandhar Box Office: Ranveer Singh Starrer Enters Rs 1000 Cr Club Domestically

According to the box office data shared by Sacnilk, Dhurandhar is still going strong at the domestic box office. In fact, the Aditya Dhar film – which has been setting new BO record ever since its release, has now become the fourth Indian film to cross Rs 1000 crore gross mark in the Indian market. Not just that, the Ranveer Singh starrer is the first Bollywood film to accomplish this feat. The other 3 films on the list are much loved South Indian films Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, KGF: Chapter 2 and Pushpa 2: The Rule.

As per the report, during its eighth week at the domestic box office, Dhurandhar collected Rs 2.9 crore nett in India and an additional Rs 1.25 crore more on Republic Day. The film’s 53rd day collection (January 26) took Dhurandhar’s domestic collection past the Rs 1000 crore mark, for an impressive total of Rs 1002 crore gross ( Rs 835 crore nett) in India.

Prior to Dhurandhar emerging as the highest grossing Hindi film, the record was held by Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan. The film – co-written and directed by Atless, grossed Rs 760 crore domestically.

India’s Rs 1000 Cr Club

Talking about the elite Rs 1000 crore club, the list led by Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule with a gross collection of Rs 1471 crore in India. In second place we have SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, which grossed Rs 1471 crore domestically in 2017. The third film on the list is the highest-grossing Kannada film of all time – KGF Chapter 2. Led by Yash, the film earned an impressive Rs 1,001 crore in India.
