L2: Empuraan Sees Drop In Box Office Collections on Day 2
On its first day, the action thriller earned around ₹22 crore nett, making it the biggest opener in Malayalam film history. According to the tracking website Sacnilk, Empuraan collected ₹11.75 crore on Friday (Day 2), a significant drop from its opening numbers.
The film, a sequel to the 2019 hit Lucifer, had exceeded expectations on release, setting a new benchmark with ₹21.5 crore on its first day—twice the previous highest opening for a Malayalam film. Despite the dip, L2: Empuraan remains a strong performer and is expected to pick up over the weekend.
