L2: Empuraan Box Office Day 1: Mohanlal And Prithviraj Sukumaran Becomes The Highest Opening Malayalam Film

Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s L2: Empuraan, the sequel to Lucifer (2019), had a massive opening on March 27, earning ₹22 crore nett at the Indian box office. This makes it the biggest opener in Malayalam cinema history, surpassing Marakkar, which earned ₹20 crore worldwide on its first day.

Released in multiple languages, the film saw strong advance bookings, crossing ₹80 crore in reservations. As per Sacnilk, the Malayalam version contributed ₹19.45 crore, while the Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi versions added ₹1.2 crore, ₹80 lakh, ₹5 lakh, and ₹50 lakh, respectively.
