Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, and Divyenndu’s feature film adaptation of the hit web series Mirzapur is off to a sensational start at the box office. According to reports, Mirzapur: The Movie opened in India with a net collection of Rs 24.75 crore, making it one of Bollywood’s biggest non-star-led opening days ever. Mirzapur: The Movie Box Office
According to Sacnilk, on its first day, the gangster thriller was screened across 11,135 shows, grossing Rs 29.70 crore. Many trade experts predicted that the film would perform well at the box office. They estimated an opening of Rs 18-20 crore, the film has exceeded expectations.
With a near Rs 25 crore opening, Mirzapur has outperformed recent hits like Saiyaara (Rs 22 crore) and Awarapan 2 (Rs 21.5 crore). The film is also giving stiff competition to other current releases such as Vishal Chaturvedi’s surprise hit Hanuman Ansh and Yash’s Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups.
About Mirzapur: The Movie
Directed by Gurmmeet Singh, Mirzapur stars Ravi Kishan, Jitendra Kumar, Rasika Dugal, Sheeba Chadha and Abhishek Banerjee. Shriya Pilgaonkar, Shweta Tripathi, Harshita Gaur, Sonal Chauhan, Rajesh Tailang, Sushant Singh, Mohit Malik, and Kulbhushan Kharbanda were present. The film released on September 4 in Hindi and a Telugu-dubbed version.
Amazon MGM Studios and Excel Entertainment have presented the film. Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar have produced the film under the Excel Entertainment banner. The original Mirzapur web series on Amazon Prime Video has been a massive hit. 3 seasons have been released, and a fourth season is in development. It is one of India’s most popular streaming shows.
