As per reports, The Diplomat – which follows the ordeal of Uzma Ahmed who is trapped in Pakistan after being deceived into marriage, has earned Rs 4.03 crore on Day 1. The film sees John Abraham stars as Indian diplomat JP Singh – who played a crucial role in Uzma’s (played by Sadia) rescue. The movie is off to a promising start at the box office.

Giving the film a 3.5 star rating, Bollywood Bubble wrote in it review, “It is a must watch to appreciate the hard work of the Indian diplomats aiming to keep our country people safe across the globe.” Praising Sadia’s performance, the review reads, “(Her performance) as Uzma will touch your hearts. She has given her all to the role – be it in expressions or body language.

The Diplomat is a Bhushan Kumar & Krishan Kumar (T-Series), John Abraham (JA Entertainment), Vipul D. Shah, Ashwin Varde, Rajesh Bahl (Wakaoo Films), and Sameer Dixit, Jatish Varma, Rakesh Dang (Fortune Pictures/Seeta Films) production. It also stars Jagjit Sandhu, Sharib Hashmi and Kumud Mishra in pivotal roles.
