Cocktail 2 Box Office Day 9: Shahid, Kriti, Rashmika’s Romantic Drama Surpasses Lifetime Collection Of Prequel Starring Saif, Deepika And Diana

Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna-led Cocktail 2 continues to impress the audience. Despite a dip in its collection, the Homi Adajania-directorial has managed to hold its own and has even managed to surpass the lifetime domestic collection of the Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty-led 2012 romantic drama in just 9 days. According to trade website Sacnilk, Cocktail 2 earned Rs 4.25 crore nett in India on its ninth day from a total of 3,338 domestic shows. Paired with its prior collection, the film’s total India nett collection currently amounts to Rs 78.75 crore. As per the report, the film’s India gross stands at Rs 93.97 crore – it will likely touch the Rs 100 crore mark with today’s collection.

Although the overall numbers aren’t that high, the film has surpassed the lifetime collection of the first Cocktail. For the unversed, the Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty-led 2012 romantic drama earned an impressive Rs 71 crore at the domestic ticket windows.

The Homi Adajani directorial stars Shahid Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna and Kriti Sanon in lead roles. It serves as the spiritual sequel to the popular 2012 romantic drama Cocktail – starring Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty.

Giving the film a 4-star rating, Bollywood Bubble wrote in its review, “Bollywood has finally hit the bull’s eye in how modern romances should be presented. While the Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna-led romantic drama will make you chuckle from time to time, it also leaves a important message of trust, love and loyalty when the end credits roll by.”
