Punjabi Singer Baaz Sran Arrested By NCB In Drugs Smuggling Case After 9-Year Chase

Popular Punjabi singer Baaz Sran, who had been hiding from the law for nearly nine years, was finally arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in Haryana on Wednesday. He was wanted in a major drug case linked to the seizure of over 36 kg of opium.

Baaz, originally named Jagsir Singh and also known as Kala, is a resident of Sirsa, Haryana. He was declared a proclaimed offender back in 2016. According to NCB, he managed to escape arrest for years by constantly changing his name and location.

In May 2025, the NCB published his details in newspapers and announced a reward of Rs 50,000 for any information that could lead to his arrest. After years of searching, officials were finally able to catch him this week.

Baaz Sran’s songs became quite popular on YouTube and Instagram, where he has nearly 33,000 followers. Some of his hit tracks include Kare Rabb Khair, Sarkari Kothi, Tera Darji, Loaded Yaar, Asla, and Gal Ni Bani.

Despite his growing fame, Baaz kept his real identity hidden while continuing to avoid arrest. His team has not yet shared any public statement regarding the arrest.

Now in custody, Baaz Sran faces legal action for his role in the narcotics case. His arrest brings an end to one of the longest manhunts by the NCB in recent years.
