Aastha Gill Reveals Using Auto-tune In Her Songs

When asked about the use of AI in Industry, Aastha Gill replied, “Pata nahi yaar mujhe samajh mein nahi aata ye sab kyunki I am actually lagging now. A lot of people are making so much music on AI, mere se toh app nahi chalta. I am not a tech-savvy person at all, matlab mere se nahi hota. Main ChatGPT bhi nahi use karti hoon, which I know is a shame in today’s time. I am sure people are judging me for that, but I am very happy without ChatGPT.”

When further questioned whether the industry uses auto-tune, Aastha said, “100%… 100%. And auto-tune doesn’t have to be used just to correct sur. You know, sometimes you also need a certain kind of texture for which you use auto-tune. Jaise mere ek-do gaane hain jismein use hua hai auto-tune, and I will speak openly about it. It was not for sur, because I can sing. ‘Abhi toh party’ mein use hua hai, but just to get that texture. I can sing, but you know, just to get that texture, right? Some people use auto-tune. So it depends on how you use it, for what you use it. And but aisa nahi hai… poori industry is using auto-tune. Ismein kya hai?”

Aastha Gill Admits Auto-tune Is Being Exploited

The audience generally perceives it negatively when singers use auto-tune in their songs. When asked what she thinks of this, Aastha said, “Perception hai. I mean, kai log exploit bhi kar rahe hain us cheez ko, kai log usko sahi tarah se bhi use kar rahe hain, but ye kaam sahi hai. Aur aaj ki date mein, I think ab hamari audience itni zyada aware ho gayi hai na ki people don’t care, ki artist ne auto-tune use kiya hai ya nahi kiya hai. If they like the song, they like it. If they like the sound of the artist in auto-tune, they like it. If they like the lyrics, they like it. So I don’t think all these things are helping in influencing people’s choices for music. Which is nice.”
