Aditi Bhatia Gives Her Take On Nepotism

When asked about issues beyond nepotism in the industry that need improvement to drive better progress, Aditi Bhatia said, “I think industry ki na ek hawa hai, woh hawa agar thodi settle ho jaaye. Kyuki, it’s a lot of glitz and glam. Par bas woh settle karke agar hum sirf craft ki baat karein, toh bahut saare outsiders insiders ban sakte hain. Kyunki woh ek glitz aur glamour ka hi ek filter hai joh ki log cross karne se kaafi ghabraate hain. Kyunki industry aapko intimidated feel karaati hai. Ab main toh khud ko kabhi outsider maanti hi nahi thi. Bachpan se hi nahi maanti thi kyunki mujhe lagta tha main sets pe badi hui hoon.”

She continued, “Matlab mujhe toh AD karne ki zarurat nahi padi set pe kyunki woh hustle-bustle toh is the most normal thing around me. Toh mujhe aisa kabhi laga hi nahi, but yeh bade hoke mujhe samajh mein aaya ki achha main outsider hoon aur aap insider ho. Toh mujhe toh ye concept kabhi nahi pata tha. But jab main doosre actors se milti hoon aur mujhe ek energy feel hoti hai, mujhe woh energy mein yahi feel hua hai ki they are intimidated by the glitz and glamour and the following of certain actors.”

Aditi Bhatia Says In The Last Two Decades Of Her Career She Has Seen Evolvement

Aditi further said, “Jabki agar woh thoda settle ho jaaye na, and people intimidate less and open doors just based on craft. I think then the industry will just look different. And I do feel like in the last two decades of my career, I have seen a lot of things evolve. Especially with the internet blowing up in the last 10 years, where social media has majorly come in. And I kind of grew up with it. I feel like we have seen a lot of changes, even in the industry, for that matter.”

The actress continued, “There have been a lot of breakthrough performances. Bahut saare joh aapke set notions the ki you know yeh in actors ko hi milega aur yeh actors ko nahi milega, woh kaafi break ho chuka hai. Like, Vikrant Massey in 12th Fail was a breakthrough performance. Toh aisi kai cheezein, I feel like hui hain jahan I have seen the industry evolve in the right ways.”

Aditi Reveals Bollywood’s Most Uncomfortable Truth

When asked about the most uncomfortable truth about Bollywood, Aditi said, “I think the access. I think people who have a network. Where they come from, they have access to certain things which a lot of outsiders don’t have. So I think that needs to be spoken about more. Basically, the access to the right filmmakers. Because once that comes, then you can get moving with other things, you know. So, that’s what I think is not spoken about a lot.”

Nepotism In Bollywood

Nepotism in Bollywood has always been a hot topic in the industry. Filmmaker Karan Johar has openly admitted to favouring nepo kids and admitted to launching stars not necessarily star kids. This ongoing debate continues to spark conversations about equal opportunities, with many outsiders often struggling to get the same access and visibility as industry insiders.
