EXCLUSIVE: Aditya Uppal Recalls Going Numb Meeting Sanjay Dutt; Shares Fun Energetic Memories With Ranveer Singh

Aditya Uppal made a strong impression with his debut film Dhurandhar, where he plays ASP Omar Hydar, the trusted right-hand man of Sanjay Dutt’s powerful character, SSP Chaudhary Aslam. In a candid conversation with Bollywood Bubble, the actor opened up about the electrifying energy on set and the memorable moments he shared with his co-stars.

Aditya Uppal On Working With Sanjay Dutt & Ranveer Singh

Talking about his first interaction with Sanjay Dutt, Aditya recalled feeling completely overwhelmed. He shared with Bollywood Bubble, “I had an amazing memory working with all the people. I think my first meeting was with Sanjay Dutt. I just got numb, and I told him, ‘Sir, mai aap ke sath khada ho ke numb sa ho gaya hu.’ He told me, ‘Arey lale abhi toh bauth kaam karna hai.’” For Aditya, working alongside someone he grew up watching on screen was both humbling and inspiring.

He also fondly remembered his time with Ranveer Singh, praising the actor’s unmatched energy and support on set. Sharing a fun anecdote, Aditya said, “One amazing memory with Ranveer Singh was that he is one man who just puts his energy into the sets. Even if it’s not his scene, he would say, ‘Omar aur energy daal, isko faad de, kill kar de.’” Aditya added that Ranveer constantly motivates everyone around him to give their best, making the entire atmosphere more charged and focused.

Speaking about portraying ASP Omar Hydar, Aditya explained the mental preparation required to play a young officer in a turbulent and violent world. He shared, “ASP Omar, as a character was briefed to me by Mr Ojas Gotham, who’s the AD in the film, and whatever brief I received from Aditya sir.” Describing Omar as a calm and observant character, he added, “He doesn’t speak too much, but he’s a great observer of things.”

Aditya further explained his approach, saying, “Preparing this character was to keep the calm. You will not see him talking too much or being violent. He’s watching everything change around him, people are getting killed, and still, he has to keep his calm and go with the flow.” With Dhurandhar, Aditya Upaal seems set to leave a lasting impact with his grounded and intense performance.
