EXCLUSIVE: Akanksha Puri Opens Up About Her Transformation For Rose Garden; Says, “It Was About Feeling Her Spirit”

Akanksha Puri, who portrays Geet in the Hungama OTT series titled Rose Garden, shares how she felt an instant pull towards the role. She takes on physically demanding tasks such as driving a tractor and truck, and working on a rose farm for her part in the series. Rose Garden an emotionally charged drama rooted in love, secrecy, betrayal, and a dangerous game passed through generations.

Akanksha Puri On Her Character Geet In Rose Garden

“Geet is daring, beautifully rebellious, and has this tough edge that I found fascinating. She’s rebellious, unapologetic, and carries scars with grace. I said yes to the character Geet because she felt like poetry wrapped in rebellion. There’s a storm inside her, but she carries it so gracefully. That layered strength drew me in instantly,” she said speaking to Bollywood Bubble.

On the poetic title Rose Garden, she reflects, “The title Rose Garden isn’t just a setting; it symbolizes hidden thorns within beauty, secrets buried under fragrance, and how love can both heal and wound.”

Preparing for her character Geet was an inward journey for her. “I didn’t need external prep; it was about feeling her spirit, her defiance, and that came naturally.”

Akanksha Puri also spoke about her shift from her previous project, where she portrayed the character of a wrestler. “While prepping for my character of Geet from Rose Garden, I was simultaneously playing a wrestler for my previous stint. That role demanded intense training, strong and aggressive body language, and an entirely different mindset. Moving to Geet, who is strong yet subtle, bold yet beautiful, and storm yet soft, was a refreshing change. It molded me differently as an actor.”

The series Rose Garden is streaming on Hungama OTT from 17th July, 2025.
