EXCLUSIVE: Amruta Khanvilkar Is Manifesting Working With Sanjay Leela Bhansali; Happily Reveals, “He Personally Invited Me For Heeramandi Screening”

From powerful performances across Marathi and Hindi cinema to steadily building her presence in the OTT space, Amruta Khanvilkar continues to dream big and pursue roles that challenge her as an actor. While she has already collaborated with some of the biggest names in the industry, one filmmaker tops her wishlist: Sanjay Leela Bhansali. In an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Bubble, the actress spoke about manifesting a collaboration with the ace director, recalled their warm interactions, and even revealed that he personally invited her to the screening of Heeramandi.

Sharing her admiration for Bhansali and her wish to work with him someday, Amruta Khanvilkar said, “I really hope so, I’m manifesting it here, because I really have had the chance to interact with him during Chandramukhi and after that, he even personally invited me for the Heeramandi screening, and the warmth and the love I have felt around him its just fantastic, and it is something that har kisi ko har abhinetri (actress) ko us pyaar me us us warmth mein dubki lagani chahiye, and just to be around him is so fantastic.”

When asked which role from his films she would love to take on, the actress didn’t hesitate and admitted that choosing just one felt impossible. She said, “Too many, my goodness, the role of Mastani, the role of Chandramukhi that Madhuri ma’am did, the role of Kashibai, I think the way Priyanka did it was too good.”

Amruta Khanvilkar also looked back at her time working on Raazi alongside Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal. Reflecting on their personalities off-screen, she said, “They are very grounded. I mean, Vicky is somebody who is so grounded, and who is so rooted in his own culture, and such a good boy, and to see his growth has been nothing but… You know he is somebody na ki jab woh aage badhta hai na aapko lagta hai aap aage badh rahe ho, and bohot kamm logo ke saath aapko aisi feeling aati hai. Alia is just supremely talented, and she has proven it time and again.”

With clear intentions and big dreams, Amruta continues to back her ambitions with hard work and sincerity. And if manifestation has its way, audiences might soon see her step into the grand, larger-than-life world of Bhansali’s cinema — a collaboration that already feels written in the stars.
