Anjali Anand Calls Herself A Heroine And Working As An Actress

When asked about body type and how you should look to set yourself in a craft, Anjali Anand said, “For me, I am the heroine, I know that. Yes, but now it’s important to see the people, now it’s happening, I’m leading in the next movie. So, it’s fine. It’s very demotivating, very demotivating (when people demean you because of your body). That’s why we need stubborn people like me, revolutionaries who make changes and do good work. Why can’t good work happen? If I don’t do good work and I just keep saying that, a plus-size girl should be leading on screen, if I’m not doing anything and keep saying this, then I have nothing to back that up.”

She continued, “If I have something good to back that up, like if people are loving me, loving my work, then the compliments that matter are the ones telling me how good my work is. If people like my work, I’m very happy. If I have my work backing me, then there are no limitations. I can go anywhere, and do anything. And that’s what I’m doing.”

Anjali Anand Reveals Shooting For Dabba Cartel Alongside Jhalak Dikhla Jaa And One Tikki

Anjali revealed how she shot for 2-3 projects at the same time, “I’m the first person who wakes up on a trip and says, let’s do water activities, let’s go for a hike, let’s climb this mountain, let’s go paragliding. I jump off cliffs. I do everything. My body is amazing, it works very well, and it does just because I’m a different size, doesn’t mean I’m not fit.

The Kulfi Kumar Bajewala lead said, “I can dance for 8-10 hours, more than you. I did Jhalak for 12 weeks while I was shooting Dabba Cartel. While I was shooting Dabba along with it, while I was shooting for One Tikki, two projects back to back for five months, 21-hour days, every day, and three hours of sleep every day. I broke my knee, and everything, but I had so much fun. I pushed my body to the limit. I got punished for it. When it’s fine, it’s completely fine, but anybody would get punished for it. Not just an overweight person.”

Further adding, the Dabba Cartel actress said, “But life is so much fun. I mean, I don’t care what people say. I live in my bubble, the Bollywood bubble (grins at this statement). I live in my bubble, which is very good, and full of love. I don’t let anyone penetrate my bubble.”

Anjali Anand Believes In Living Life To The Fullest

Anjali Anand talks about body positivity and living life to the fullest, “Like I said, we are adults. When we were kids, we used to wait for birthdays, to eat cake. Now, we can order cake whenever we want, and we can sit and eat it. We have that power. But now we have the knowledge that we shouldn’t eat it. Right? It’s not good for us. So, we apply that knowledge to good things now.

The Jhala Dhikla Jaa participant said, “So if we don’t order a Rs 500 cake, we can take that Rs 500 and go watch a show or do something that will give us happiness. Let’s go bowling, let’s do something. In life, we can do anything. We were just put into boxes, told we had to do this, do that, this is how it’s supposed to be. If people want to do that, let them, no problem at all. But I don’t want to. I want to have fun, fun should never stop for me. Fun should always be there.”

Anjali Anand On Body Positivity

Concluding Anjali said, “I’m saying this to the people who talk about body positivity. It’s not just about body positivity. Some people look great. There are people who we think are perfect, but they have so many insecurities. Every person, you can look at anyone, even the biggest actresses or actors. They have some insecurity. You might think your left hand looks weird, or your right-hand looks weird, or this finger looks weird, or your eyes look strange. Everyone feels something about themselves. So, it’s not just about body positivity. Stop talking about it. There are so many other things to talk about in life, and we will talk about them all. But first, work. Do the work you came here to do. Talking about all this is not necessary.”
