Ankit Gupta on maintaining privacy amid limelight
The Junooniyatt actor shares how he dealt with limelight and attention during the initial phase of his career. Ankit says, “Initially, of course, the first time when I saw so much love, I didn’t understand anything. I didn’t even know how to handle it. But then I stayed like how I am. I’m a very private person. I don’t like to share my private life with anyone. So initially, people used to even ask me, ‘You don’t share or post anything on Instagram.’ Now they understand. But thoda sa shuru shuru mein hua tha. Phir abhi sabko aadat pad gayi hai, mujhe bhi aadat pad gayi hai. (It was a little difficult initially. Then, gradually, everyone got used to it, and I also got used to it).”
When asked Ankit, why he is not much active on social media, he says, “I’m not a social media person. I haven’t posted anything more than a month. But one thing I have started doing is that the movies and shows I really like, I post about them on stories. I had last put up a story for Superboys Of Malegaon as I found it to be a beautiful film. All the outsiders are there in that film and they did such beautiful work. Even technically the movie was so great. And I really believe that if films starring outsiders work, then only other outsiders will get opportunities. Producers and directors will be willing to take a chance if their movies work.”
