Talking about how he builds Prem, Shivam revealed that he rarely depends on his own life to shape the character’s emotions. “I think, 99% of the time, no,” he says when asked if personal experiences guide his performance. For him, Prem’s identity is completely separate from his own.

Shivam explained that the character is created through teamwork. He states, “Me, my directors, and writers—we together made a life of Prem and there’s a way how he will think, react, and accept or reject things.”

He added that even if Shivam might react very differently in real life, Prem’s reactions must stay true to the world built for him. He shares, “If you totally feel the character, even if those moments are not yours… you can still do it with your utmost honesty. That is why it’s called acting.”

Shivam: We Don’t Have To Make A Character Out Of Our Personal life

Shivam also opened up about whether people close to him influence the way he expresses emotions on screen. He clarified that their impact lies in their feedback, not in shaping his emotional approach. “I understand their opinion about what they think about my performances,” he said. But he avoids mixing personal emotions with his character’s journey. “We’ve to live the character. We don’t have to make our personal life and then make a character out of it.”
