Ayesha Jhulka On Having Kids
In an exclusive chat with Bollywood Bubble, Ayesha Jhulka addresses why she chooses not to have kids. She says, “See, I have never done things for people that, ‘Oh woh kya bolenge,’ ya ‘Woh kya sochenge.’ I do things that I want to do, there’s no compulsion, I have not put myself in a position where there has to be a compulsion or I have to please people. So this is my nature, my trait, it’s within me, I am made that way, if I feel something is not right, I will spell it out. A lot of people don’t do it, so a lot of times I am unpopular, a lot of times I am considered arrogant but, it doesn’t matter.” (I’ve never worried about what people think—I do what I want without feeling compelled to please others. If something feels wrong, I speak up, even if it makes me unpopular or seem arrogant, but that doesn’t matter to me.)
“Aaj ke zamaane me, ya pehele bhi, ek toh gender lo lekar things are opening, aap dekho, live-in relationships are fine now, toh phir yeh kaunsi badi baat hai, humari choice haina, joh cheez iss duniya me hai hi nahi uske baare me kyu roo rahe ho. It’s my choice, I know why I have taken that decision, and when my family, my husband are fine with it then even discussing it is ridiculous.” (Whether today or earlier, things are evolving, especially regarding gender. Live-in relationships are accepted now, so what’s the big deal? It’s my choice—why cry over something that doesn’t even exist? I know why I made my decision, and if my family and husband are fine with it, then discussing it is pointless.)
