The wait is finally over! The much-awaited new season of the Salman Khan-hosted controversial but immensely loved Bigg Boss is here. Bigg Boss 19 has premiered and we’ve got to meet this season’s contestants such as Gaurav Khanna, Awez Darbar, Abhishek Bajaj, Ashnoor Kaur and more. Before entering the show, several of the housemates interacted with Bollywood Bubble and spilled some details about why they said yes to the show, how they’ve prepared themselves and more.
Among these contestants was Anupamaa actor and Celebrity Masterchef winner Gaurav Khanna. Before he left for the show and to shoot the pre-premiere content, the actor spoke to our host and revealed this wasn’t the first time he’s been approached to be a contestant. Scroll below to know why he said yes this time and his views on the show’s political theme this year.
Gaurav Khanna On Saying Yes To Bigg Boss 19
When asked why he chose to do this specific season on Bigg Boss 19, Gaurav Khanna answered, “I have always been offered Bigg Boss here and there, but chances were – because I was always busy on other shows, I never had time for that long stretch to be a part of it. Because it’s one of the most famous non-fiction shows in India. All said and done, after MasterChef, I realised I should give it a shot, and that’s why I’m here.”
Gaurav On This Year’s Political Theme
Speaking about this year’s theme of Bigg Boss 19 – Gharwalon Ki Sarkaar, and if having a political format may be tougher, the Master Chef winner said, “I think politics is not something new for an Indian because we have grown up in an atmosphere where it’s all about politics and elections happening every time here and there. So, I think we are all very abreast with the whole political structure.”
He continued, “Also, I come from Kanpur, which is a part of UP, which is the political hub of North India. So, I think, yeah, it was high time that Bigg Boss accumulated such a twist in the show, and I’m happy. It’s something new, and people will enjoy it. Hopefully, the contestants will not enjoy it that much, but let’s see, and we will take it as the day comes.”
