Chhorii 2 director Vishal Furia opened up about how his horror films stand apart from others in Bollywood. He said that his stories focus not just on scares, but also carry strong emotional and social messages. Vishal explained that he uses horror as a tool to talk about real issues, which adds depth and meaning to his films.
Vishal Furia On How Horror Evolved Over The Year
Vishal believes fear should come from real situations and emotions, making the experience more relatable and impactful for the audience. In an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Bubble, he said, “In my projector, I have stuck to a certain trajectory till now. The kind of horror that I’m making in horror is revolving around certain social issues. So I don’t see it as a laughable matter or a matter which should be added with masala. I quite see it as a serious horror because this is the reality of the society. We cannot burden it with other unnecessary things. So I tried to write the order and make the horror where the impact goes through.”
Furthermore, he was questioned if the horror genre is loosing its seriousness. To which, he said, “To make its own is what I would say. It’s great that everything is working. Horror comedy is working in its own way and even other things. I wish I could also work and get the audience’s support and love, so why not? I mean, it all helps to help the industry to. So I think to leave it soon is what I would say.”
