Dheeraj Dhoopar on being labelled as TV actor

When asked about the same, Dheeraj exclusively told us, “I always had a problem with me being called a TV actor. Why? A medium cannot define an actor. I’m just an actor who wants to be part of all the mediums simultaneously. I want to do films I want to do OTT, I want to do music albums, I want to do TV everything. I’m not demeaning anything. TV is always been my first love and will always be my first love and I always wanted to switch over to a different medium.

Not just for the sake of it, I wanted to switch over and I wanted to do as good as what I was doing on TV. I think that took a little longer for me but yes, there is when people were considering me for certain kind of characters but when they thought ‘Okay, I’ve been too exposed to the audience being a TV actor’. Then I felt bad, I mean being exposed I think is a good thing people know you,” the Kundali Bhagya actor said.

Dheeraj Dhoopar on getting recognition

Recently, I went to Leh Ladakh, the remotest area, I was at the China border somewhere and from that Village people were calling me by my character name. That’s the reach of TV. We have a vast audience and TV is not going anywhere I mean I’m very proud of where I come from. I’m very proud of what I’ve done in my career. After the shoot of Tatlubaaz, I sent Saubhagyavati Bhava 2,” he said.

I’m doing now which is an OTT project which is my OTT debut, I did TV after that. So, I want to be part of all the mediums simultaneously. I want to do TV, I want to do OTT as I said I want to create a space for myself as an actor where I’m part of all the mediums. You offer me anything if I like the character if I like the script I want to be a part of it,” Sherdil Shergill actor concluded.
