Shacindra Vats: That Unplanned Moment Transformed The Entire Scene In Janaawar
When asked if there were any unexpected incidents while filming Janaawar in the heartlands of India and how they shaped the story, director Shacindra Vats shared, “We were shooting a village Gram Devta worship scene, and we had only 60 junior artists as per our shoot schedule. The location was huge and really needed hundreds of people. When my first AD asked if 60 would be enough, I said we had no choice and would make the best of it.”
He continued, “On the day of the shoot, those 60 juniors looked like barely 10 in that big space. But as night fell and the shooting lights came on, something unexpected happened. People from nearly 20 nearby villages rushed in to watch. It quickly became clear this was a rare event for them. We brought them into the scene, and because it was a Gram Devta worship sequence, they joined with real emotion and energy. That unplanned moment transformed the entire scene.”
