EXCLUSIVE: Gippy Grewal Blames Actors, Politicians For Misusing Social Media And Later Criticising It; Says “Agar Mujhe Survive Karna Hai Toh…”

Rupinder Singh “Gippy” Grewal” is an Indian actor, singer, film director and producer whose works in the Punjabi and Hindi film industry. He made his acting debut in the 2010 movie Mel Karade Rabba. It was followed by Carry On Jatta, Lucky Di Unlucky Story, Bhaji in Problem and others. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, Gippy Grewal believes social media criticism motivates artists and feels there’s nothing wrong with feedback.

Gippy Grewal On Social Media Criticism

When asked about social media criticism, Gippy Grewal said, “Woh toh hogaya hai, social media pe bahut hogaya hai. Hum logo ne bahut kiya hai, sabse zyada hum logo ne actors ne, politicians ne, yeh jo log hai sabse zyada misuse hum logo ne kiya hai. Hum humaara dhanda hai, cheezo ko waise unn platforms ko karte hai. Log bhi waise karne lag gaye hai, waise hi karna lage hai sab toh palli hogaya hai yeh sab cheeze. Pehele toh aise cheez hoti nahi thi, log film dekhkar aate the, film buri bhi hoti thi toh artist ko pata nahi chalta tha ki logo usko gaaliyan nikaal rahe hai.”

The director continues, “Abh pata chalta hai, mujhe lagta hai thik bhi hai. Thik kya hai, ki humain instant pata chal jaata hai. Kai baar humaari film achi nahi hui toh humain apni galti ek minute main pata chal jaati hai. Nahi, kai baar kya hota tha ki purani kahaaniya sunte hai ki actor, bade superstar actors the unko 3-3 saal pata hi nahi chala ki woh film flop ho chuki hai. Toh matlab kitni filmain nikal gaye ki unko pata hi nahi chala ki yeh flop ho chuke hai. Abh toh humain instant pata chalta hai ki yaar mera yeh kaam bura tha. Agar mujhe survive karna hai toh mujhe yeh karni padegi.”

Gippy Grewal Believes Social Media Criticism Helps Artists

During the same chat, Grewal said,“Aap photo daalo, weight badhgaya toh log likhne lagenge aap mote hogaye ho gaye ho ji. Aapka weight kam hogaya toh bolenge are kya hogaya aapko, mar raha tu, kamzor hogaya hai tu. Toh mujhe lagta hai ki usme kuch galat bhi nahi hai. Kiuki reason kya hai, aap photo kis liye daal rahe ho? Unhi logo ke liye daal rahe ho aur woh apna feedback bhi naa de? Aise toh nahi ho sakta haina. Toh feedback denge, filmain bhi aap usi ke liye bana rahe hai. Achcha, bura jaise bhi ho, abh har bande ka style hai, bolne ka, respect dene ka, kisi ko daatne ka, kisi ko gaali nikaalne ka, sab apne style se karte hai. Khush rehene do, enjoy karo aur happy raho. Motivate karte hai yeh cheeze, it’s what I feel.”
