Hiten Tejwani Opens Up On Long Working Hours In The Industry

Several TV actors have spoken about the long working hours in the industry, stating that it often leads to frustration and even long-term health concerns. When asked whether the situation remains the same or has improved over time, Hiten Tejwani said, “Nahi dheere-dheere abhi sab change ho raha hai aur abhi mostly saare log 12 ghante kaam karte hai. But dekhiye again, as I said, pehle toh aisa hota tha ki hamare telecast ka bahut issue hota tha ki you know you have to send the telecast. So then that’s why you have to work long hours. But abhi thoda bahut systemised hua hai, planned hogaya hai. Toh 12 ghante toh minimum hai. 12 ghante ka matlab aisa nahi hota hai ki exactly 12 ghante mein khatam hogaya. It goes on for half an hour, one hour extra. “

The actor further added, “But then you have to be prepared, and pehle se hi baat kar leni chaiye. Actors log karte bhi hai, I am sure, like, ‘You know I will work only for 12 hours.’ And 12 hours is good enough. You’re getting into this thing, you know that yeh demand hai. If you’re doing only verticals, toh for example, aapne yeh soch liya ki main teen karunga. Main ek aise hi ball part figure de raha hu. Toh aap baaki ke din apni personal life mein de sakte hain.”

Hiten concluded, “But for me, I’m doing TV, verticals, web series, and films also. It becomes a little difficult. I have to manage. There are months where bilkul time nahi milta. Poora mahina booked hota hai. And there are months where thoda time mil jaata hai. For example, abhi main film kar raha hu toh uski date thi woh khali ho gayi. Toh mil jaata hai time. Toh, you manage like that. That’s the only way.”
