Hussain Dalal On His Bond With Shahid Kapoor
Hussain Dalal and Shahid Kapoor have collaborated on projects like Deva and Farzi, and are now sharing screen space once again in O’Romeo. When asked about his bond with Shahid Kapoor, Hussain Dalal said, “Shahid Bhai and I, we go a long way. Maine kuch kuch cheezein likhi bhi hai unke liye. Maine Farzi likhi hai, Deva likhi hai.Toh humari dosti toh hai hi. Mashallah, acchi dosti hai.“
Talking about their friendship in the Vishal Bhardwaj directorial, the actor continued, “Jab hum yeh film saath mein karne lage toh humko yahi tha ki dosti toh humari hai hi. Humein ab era crack karna hai. Dosti toh humari hai hi par yeh 90s ki dosti hai. Toh, in terms of performance, era crack karna hai. It was just easy because, genuinely, we like each other. And I genuinely feel for Shahid. So I didn’t have to act about feeling for a character. Toh, I think it was much easier in that sense because we have been friends and he’s a fantastic actor to be with, yaar.”
The Karwaan dialogue writer further added, “Matlab woh sabka khyal rakhte hai. Shahid is one of those actors joh humesha mujhe push karenge, kahenge tu apna take dekh tune theek kiya. Tujhe ek aur chaiye. Tu yeh feel kar raha hai. Tu dhyaan de. Main thoda distracted type ka aadmi hu toh bolenge ki dhyaan de tu, kya kar raha hai? And he keeps checking, he’s really been the best co- actor I could have worked with.”
Hussain Dalal Shares His Bond With Director Vishal Bhardwaj
Speaking about his bond with director Vishal Bhardwaj and his equation with other co-stars on set, Hussain Dalal said, “Yaar Vishal (Bhardwaj) ji joh hai, itne mazedaar aadmi hai. Unki filmein bohot intense hongi. Aksar logo ko lagta hai ki agar itni intense filmein banata hai toh woh aadmi bhi gambhir hoga, but aksar aisa nahi hota hai. Woh bohot hi relaxed aadmi hai, bohot hi chill aadmi hai. Unke set pe energy kaafi happy hoti hai. Toh hum bhi yaar time pass karte the, baatein karte the. And actually, 100% of my scenes are with Shahid, and some are with Triptii and Shahid. Toh hum toh chill hi karte the between takes.”
Speaking more on his admiration for Vishal Bhardwaj, he added, “Mazedaar mahol tha woh aur director ki clarity mein joh maza aata hai, woh kahi nahi aata. And Vishal sir makes sure ki unhe joh chaiye wahi milega. Toh set par bohot maza aaya yaar. Kaafi relaxed shoot tha. Kaafi give and take sab karte the. Sab ek doosre ki baat sunte the. Ek shabd mein kahu na toh bohot hi mature set tha. Sabne kaam kiya hai toh sab tajurbe waale log hai. Bohot easy tha sabke liye. Nobody was holding onto anything. That makes the process fantastic.”
