Actor Anud Singh Dhaka – who gained recognition ever since he stepped into the entertainment world with the 2020 Netflix anthology series Taj Mahal: 1989, was recently seen playing the lead in Ajay Bhuyan’s romantic psychological thriller series Psycho Saiyaan. Also starring Tejasswi Prakash and Ravi Kishan in lead roles, the show released on Amazon MX Player on Friday, February 27.
As the audience continues to view the series and take to social media to share their views of it and his acting in it, Bollywood Bubble exclusively spoke to the actor about the show – specifically his connection with animals. In the show, Anud’s character, Kartik, is somewhat of an animal whisperer who shares bonds with a variety of animals, especially a dog and rats. During our conversation, we quizzed Dhaka about his bond with animals in real life and whether he considers himself an animal whisperer IRL too.
During the same conversation, we also quizzed him about filming a CGI-heavy scene involving rats in the show. Read on to know his answers.
Anud Singh Dhaka On Being An Animal Whisperer In Real Life
When asked if he’s an animal whisperer in real life – just like his character Kartik is in Psycho Saiyaan, Anud Singh Dhaka clearly said no. He shared, “I’m no animal whisperer but I’ve noticed that generally animals come very comfortably to me. Even with cats, there are so many cats in Bombay (Mumbai). They walk up to me. The cows, the dogs, I pet them. I pet the cows.”
The actor continued, “I’m no whisperer, but I think the city only has made me some sort of an animal lover. I was very afraid of dogs at one point of time in my life. Street dogs, I used to look at them as a threat. But now I believe that they sense. I think they sense your intention towards them. They sense fear. They sense love. So now probably I have more love towards them. So they sense that and then they come to me and then I always get to pet them. Be it cats, cows or even dogs.”
Anud On Filming A Scene Surrounded By Rats In Psycho Saiyaan
When asked what went through his mind while shooting the rat scene in Psycho Saiyaan, Anud Singh Dhaka revealed it was completely CGI with no rodent in sight. He shared, “No that is completely CGI but obviously such scenes need you to visualize a lot so when you’re on set obviously there are no rats but you have to imagine them and then you have to treat them as a character in the scene. So it was a good exercise, it was a good acting test and I think it happened beautifully.”
