Karan Tacker Reveals Why He Backed Out Of His FIRST TV Show
Talking about backing out of his first Television show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Karan said, “My first show on TV was actually YRKKH which was a very desi, very rooted story. Mene ek din shoot karke, I backed out of it. Aur voh star plus ka prime time show tha 9 baje ka. Aur yeh 17 saal pehle agar aap 9 baje ke actor hai toh Hindustan mein aapse bada koi actor nahi hai agar aap hero hai.”
He further added, “So I took a backseat of doing a star plus show with Rajan Shahi and there was a very big feud on it because I backed out of it. Because I felt like you know what I don’t relate to this right now. I’m not this guy. I could do a younger platform. I could do a cooler show which will have a very small reach but it’s something that I’ll enjoy doing.”
The actor ended up doing Love Ne Milaa Di Jodi on Star One, talking about which, he said, “So even at that time, I chose to go on star one which was a younger platform, waha pe bade ache shows aate the. They were the cooler shows or let’s say for the lack of a better word they were the OTT of TV. Unn mein se ek mera show tha called ‘Love Ne Milaa Di Jodi’ .”
He continued, “So even at that time I chose the work that I wanted to do, that I connected more and I took that risk of leaving one of the biggest shows, which let’s be honest, it’s 17 years and it’s still running. If I had done that, I would have made a stupid amount of money, I would have been largely successful, and I would have never had to look back at thinking where my next paycheck is going to come from.”
He further added, “But it’s a choice that you make, right? I left that show and today Rajan sir and I we’re still great camaraderies where we’re still very chatty when we meet and he still says that you left my show but he pats me on the back of he’s like you know I’m glad that you did.”
When asked about which role he was offered, Karan said, “The lead part. Naitik’s part. I was playing Naitik. So, Hina and I tested also together. Hina was playing, I forgot the girl’s name in the show-Akshara but I backed out of that show last minute. And I’m not saying this pompously. I’m just trying to explain that these are choices that you make.”
Karan Tacker was last seen in Bhay: The Gaurav Tiwari Story, Special Ops 2 and Tanvi the Great.
