Konkona Sen Sharma shares her take on Bollywood not experimenting enough with their projects. While promoting her show, The Naina Murder Case, the actress sat for an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble. Konkona Sen Sharma AGREES Bollywood Follows A Formula And Doesn’t Experiment Much

When asked if Bollywood is not experimenting enough with its projects, Konkona Sen Sharma replied, “I would say that, you know… I agree with what you said, that the space to do things which are experimental is very little. Kyunki hota kya hai na, naturally, I mean, rather understandably, joh log projects finance karte hain, unhe apna paisa recover karna hota hai. Toh obviously unko woh considerations mind mein rakhni padti hain.”

She continued, “Aur isliye woh wahi cheezein karna chahte hain jo pehele se successful rahi hain, ya woh formulas jo already work kar chuke hain. Aur usse imagination ka ek certain lack aa jaata hai. Mujhe lagta hai thoda sa space hona chahiye, chahe woh films ke exhibition mein ho, ya kuch subsidised projects ho — jahaan bina bahut zyada paise kharch kiye, responsibly, hum thoda experiment kar sakein. Because that’s how we are able to push the art form forward. Aur wahi tareeke se filmmaking ke conventions change hote hain.”
